ALGARVE GOODLIFE has an estimated readership of 10,000 English-speaking residents in the Algarve, where some 95% of the British expatriate community in Portugal reside. The magazine is firmly established as the region’s best liked, best read and best kept lifestyle magazine. 6,000 copies are distributed through more than 300 newsagents (by the leading independent distributor VASP), as well as to carefully selected businesses and real estate agents in the region. We estimate that equates to a reach of up to 60% of the total UK expatriate target – and sales continue to increase ever month on a moving annual total basis, a trend that looks set to continue following its editorial and design enhancement in March 2006.
DESTINATION ALGARVE / ALGARVE PROPERTY MAGAZINE – two titles but the same magazine with different covers. It is the Algarve’s only independent, specialised property magazine. First published as a bi-monthly in 2003, Destination Algarve has been sold in the UK and Ireland through key newsagents such as WHSmith and Eason outlets, and major multiple retailers such as Waitrose and Borders. Further retails points are added with every issue. In the Algarve, the Property Magazine has been published for more than eight years and sells through more than 300 newsagents. Copies are also distributed to real estate agents and other outlets involved in the property market. The combined distribution is currently 10,000 to 12,000 copies per issue.
WELCOME is a key publication for advertisers aiming to attract English-speaking holidaymakers. There are now five separate area magazines, published simultaneously, focusing on events and attractions in the areas around Lagos, Portimão, Carvoeiro, Albufeira and Almancil. All five magazines are published three times a year, with up to 30,000 copies of each being distributed free in major tourist locations through hotels, restaurants, bars, shops and advertisers. There is the opportunity to advertise in any or all twelve issues.
GOLF GUIDES.
Both the Algarve and the Costa del Sol Golf Guides concentrate on essential information to enable visiting golfers to get the best from their holidays. Fifteen thousand copies of the Algarve guide and 17,000 copies of the Costa del Sol Guide are picked up free every issue from course reception counters, hotel golf desks and visitor handling agents, as well as numerous retail, wining, dining and entertainment establishments frequented by golfers. Virtually every visiting golfer gets one. Because golfers invariably play several courses, the magazines are kept and repeatedly referred to. They are frequently taken back to the UK for reference or as a memento.
